How You Can Stay at the Real ‘Solana Hotel’ as Benidorm TV Comeback Rumours Grow

Fans of the hit ITV comedy Benidorm could soon be dusting off their sun hats and heading back to the Costa Blanca – not just to relive the laughs, but possibly to catch the show’s long-awaited return. With fresh talk of Benidorm coming back to our screens, there’s growing excitement around the real-life hotel where the series was filmed – and yes, you can still book a stay.

Here’s how to visit the actual Solana Hotel… and what to expect if you do.

The ‘Solana Hotel’ is 'real' – and still open for bookings

While Benidorm’s Solana Hotel was fictional, the location used for filming was very real. Most of the scenes in the hit comedy were shot at the Sol Pelícanos Ocas, a hotel that’s just a stone’s throw from Benidorm’s Levante Beach.

Located in the Rincon de Loix area, the Sol Pelícanos Ocas is a twin-hotel complex that offers the full package for a sun-soaked break – think massive lagoon-style pools, daily entertainment, buffet dining, and even the very poolside bar fans will recognise from the show.

The famous pool scenes – where Mateo flirted and chaos regularly unfolded – were mostly filmed at the Pelícanos side of the hotel. That same pool is still a centrepiece of the resort and available for you to enjoy just like the cast did.

How to book a stay at the Benidorm filming location

Booking a stay is surprisingly easy. You can reserve rooms directly through Melia Hotels – the company that owns the Sol Pelícanos Ocas – or use popular travel sites like Booking.com or Expedia. Prices vary depending on the season, but rooms often start from around £70–£100 per night for a standard double with breakfast included.

If you’re a true fan of the show and want to soak in the nostalgia, request a room with a pool view – this will overlook the main filming area and give you that familiar Solana feeling.

Many package holiday providers also include the hotel in their deals, especially for family-friendly trips, so it’s worth checking with the usual suspects like Jet2holidays or TUI for flights and transfers included.

What’s changed since Benidorm stopped filming?

While the show wrapped up in 2018, the hotel has continued to operate as a lively resort, welcoming both fans and sun-seekers. Some of the most recognisable features are still intact – including the huge pool, the bright yellow parasols, and the bar area used for many of the outdoor scenes.

Of course, don’t expect to bump into Madge on her mobility scooter – although you might find a few lookalike guests keeping the spirit alive! But who knows - if the reboot does go ahead you may actually bump into the cast filming location scenes by the pool.

Inside, the rooms are bright and functional, and although some have had minor refurbishments since the show, you’ll still feel the Benidorm charm around every corner.

Could Benidorm return to the Solana?

Rumours have been swirling in recent months that ITV is considering bringing Benidorm back – either as a new series or a one-off special. Cast members have fuelled speculation by dropping hints on social media, and creator Derren Litten has expressed interest in reviving the beloved sitcom.

If a new series does get the green light, as is being heavily rumoured at the moment, it’s likely the Sol Pelícanos Ocas will once again become a filming hub – making it even more of a must-visit for fans.

Final thoughts

Whether you're hoping for the show’s return or simply want to relive the magic of Benidorm, a stay at the Solana – sorry, Sol Pelícanos Ocas – is the ultimate nostalgic getaway. With affordable prices, great weather, and that unmistakable setting, it’s the perfect mix of sun, sea, and sitcom memories.

The show's creator Derren Litten has neither confirmed or explicitly denies the multiple press reports in April 2025 that the show could return.

Just don’t forget your sun cream – and maybe pack a leopard-print kaftan, just in case!
